No Wood
Frank Door Company's cold storage doors are wood free. We have provided our customers, U.S.D.A. inspectors, architects, designers and consultants wood free products for over a decade. Wood warps, rots, collects moisture and can harbor bacteria and other microbes like mildew, mold and fungus. To address these hygienic and safety concerns our sliding doors feature an internal aluminum structure coupled with steel corner brackets and mounting plates providing unprecedented strength and a hygienic wood-free door. Furthermore, our thermally insulated casings and headers are extruded from aluminum; providing durable sanitary door frames. High density polyethylene casings and headers are available on request.
UL Listed
Frank sliding doors are UL listed. With over 35 years of experience, Frank Door has acquired knowledge that allows us to provide our customers with the correct heat for their door. All doors are tested and inspected after wiring is complete for quality control and long heater wire life. Sliding doors have full perimeter heat in the door panel and heaters in the casings and headers. 230 volt heaters are available upon request.
UL EPH/NSF
We are the only cold storage door manufacturer with the authorization to apply the UL EPH/NSF mark on our doors as our doors meet all requirements. The UL EPH Mark is recognized and accepted in all U.S. states and Canadian provinces as a trusted source for assessing the sanitary design, construction and performance of commercial food equipment. The UL sanitation certification is conducted to the applicable NSF / ANSI International standards and is recognized as an equal to NSF
DropTrac System
Frank Door Company's DropTrac is constructed of heavy duty aircraft grade aluminum extrusions. Unique design advantages balance hygiene, style and performance in a package that can sustain years of use under the toughest conditions. Discover the DropTrac difference.
- A closed hood design protects the system's elements from corrosive environmental conditions
- Our closed hood design is visually pleasing and hides the chain and sprockets on a power-operated door
- Our track is hygienic because there are no areas where water and bacteria can collect during washdown
- Twin trolley assemblies distribute load for maximum stability
- Trolleys feature large diameter wheels and sealed stainless steel bearings for smooth operation
- "Down and In" to close maximizes seal. "Up and Out" to open minimizes gasket wear and tear
Digital Control System - DCS18
Add the DCS18, Digital Control System to automate sliding doors. It provides unprecedented control and flexibility in a variety of cold storage applications.
At the push of a button, the DCS18 configures itself and offers multiple points of control. The system is programmed at the factory and will never lose its limits. The system controls door position, opening and closing speeds, partial openings and time delay closing. It is fully integrated and does not require maintenance prone torque limiters or limit switches, eliminating constant maintenance and safety issues.
The system has been designed to handle frequent openings and closings in the toughest conditions.
The system is available in two different configurations; 120VAC or 208 230VAC. It can accommodate higher voltages with an optional step down transformer.
Additional features include soft start and stop, a touch pad display, password protection, a cycle counter, electronic overload protection and sophisticated internal diagnostics.
Wireless reversing edges, push buttons, pull cords are available.
- Reversing Edge
- Jamb Beams
Reversing Edge
The reversing edge is mounted to the leading edge of every power door. It is a pneumatic tube and air switch combination that detects if the door impacts something. If the door senses an impact it reverses direction and moves to the open position.Jamb Beams
Jamb beams are a photo electric sensor. They are located in the face casings of a sliding door. The sensor consists of two components, a transmitter and a receiver which shoots a beam from one side of the opening to the other. If this beam is interrupted by a person or piece of equipment it will reverse the door or keep the door from closing.

Motion Dectectors
Frank Door uses the BEA Falcon motion detector. The Falcon is a fully customizable solution for your application. It allows for uni- or bi-directional sensing and can differentiate between pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Motion/Presence Sensors
Frank Door uses the BEA IS40 motion/presence sensor. This industrial sensor uses a combination of active infrared and microwave technologies to provide precise presence and accurate motion detection in front of the door.
Falcon IS40 Motion Sensors BrochurePull Cords
Pull cords are a simple approach to opening and closing doors. Our pull cord requires no heaters in freezer applications and consistently works at temps to -30 degrees (F). Simply pull on the cord to open the door and then pull the cord again to close it.Push Buttons
Push buttons are available in one, two and three button configurations. These buttons can be used to control your doors with commands such as open, close, partial open and stop.Floor Loops
Floor loops can be installed in the floor in order to sense vehicular traffic. Frank Door does not supply the embedded wire but can ship power operated doors complete with the BEA Matrix wiring harness.
Matrix Floor Loop BrochureRadio Controls
Your Frank Door can be outfitted with one, two or four button radio controls. A receiver will be mounted to the power operator and with the push of a button you can open your power operated door.
Guidance Systems
- Floor Guide
- Wall Guide
Floor Guide
The Frank floor guide is our standard trailing edge guidance system. Machined from UHMW plastic it is robust, clean and corrosion proof. The design is low profile and as most of the guide is underneath the door panel, a trip hazard has been eliminated.
Wall Guide
The Frank wall guide provides a safe and sanitary method for trailing edge guidance. It is an excellent choice for uneven or sloped floors or if the end user does not want to drill into the floors. The wall guide is available in anodized aluminum or stainless steel.

Kick Plates
Kickplates provide the interior and/or exterior side of door with protection from food carts, pallet jacks and fork trucks. Custom sizes available upon request
- Diamond Tread
- Stainless Steel
- Smooth Aluminum
- High Density Polyethylene
Diamond Tread
Diamond Tread is the typical cold storage door kick plate. Our Diamond Tread Kickplate is 1/8” thick Aluminum and wraps the leading edge of a manual sliding door.Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel kick plates are a great non-corrosive choice when a textured finish is not acceptable.Smooth Aluminum
Smooth Aluminum is more cost effective than stainless steel when a textured finish such as diamond tread is not acceptable.High Density Polyethylene
1/2” thick high density polyethylene is a wonderful kick or impact plate. Available in white or black not only is this style kick plate sanitary, it is also durable and great for wash-down. At a thickness of 1/2”, it provides a projection off the face of the door offering further protection to the metal skins of your cold storage door.
View Windows
- Heated Glass
- Lexan
Heated Glass
These units are available in custom sizes, however our standard view ports are 14” x 14” or 14” x 24”.Lexan
1/4” Lexan windows are available upon request. These single pane windows can be made to be installed in your FRANK door or as a unit to be installed in a wall section to create a viewing or inspection window. They are an excellent choice when glass windows are not permitted in processing areas.
Jambs
- PVC Return Jambs
- Cap Channel
- "L" Capping
PVC Return Jambs
Our PVC return jamb is an excellent way to finish off a rough cut opening. Our polymer profile is sanitary, wood free and provides an integrated thermal break.Cap Channel
Cap channel is a way to cap a rough cut opening or to cover existing damage to the jamb in replacement applications. This “C” shaped frame covers the entire jamb."L" Capping
“L” Capping is used when the thickness of the wall can vary from the top of the opening to to the floor or when the wall thickness is unknown. The two “L”s can slip over each other and be mechanically fastened and caulked at the seam.
Wicket Door
Wicket doors are a swing door inside another door, typically a sliding door. This allows access in and out of a cold room without the need to open the sliding door or large swing door. Wicket doors are available as a hi sill or sweep bottom depending on the application. Wicket doors can be provided upon request. Wicket doors are placed in large slide doors so the large door does not need to be opened when people walk through the opening or in cases when the large door does not meet code requirements for pedestrian traffic.
